Joint Entrance Examination is constituted by two different examinations - JEE Main and JEE Advance.
JEE Main is for admission to the National institute of Technology (NITs). Indian Institutes of information Technology (IIITs), and some other colleges designated as "Centrally Funded Technical Institutes" (CFTs).
JEE Advanced is for admission to the Indian Institutes of Technology(IITs).
Only the students selected in JEE Mains are eligible for appearing in JEE Advanced.
For JEE Main candidates should have qualified or appearing class 12th Board exam/Intermidiate examination or equvivalent examination as listed by NTA. There is no age limit for the candidates. Candidates can appear for JEE MAin for three consecutive years irrespective of session attempts as two attempts in a year will be considered as one. For JEE Advance the minimum requirement for general & OBC is 75% and 65% score for SC, ST & PWD in 12th or equvialent and also candidates should be among the top 2,24,000(including all categories) in paper-1 of JEE (Main).
